TRADE SHOW AND CONFERENCE

Hi Stamp and Scrapbook Friends,

I am presently in Boston attending a trade show and conference of 10 of my suppliers.  I am learning so much and I can’t wait to bring the info back to the store.

One of the classes I took today was by Petaloo Flowers.  We took  a small canvas, spritzed and watered it,  and learned to color flowers using inks and glazes. We decorated the canvas with die-cuts and the colored flowers.  Wait until you see the spring line of Petaloo spring flowers.  Most colors are neutral colored so they can be colored easyily.  Some of the other flowers are made from t-shirt material.  This type of flower adds so much texture and dimension to your projects.

The 2nd class I attended was called Wax on-Wax off.  This technique involves using a heat tool and bees wax along with a lot of old book pages, tissue paper and even cocktail napkins.  I definately will be bringing this into the store.

Winter is still upon the East Coast so do not feel bad.  Snow flurries today but there is no snow on the ground here.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more updates.

Take time to do the things you love, Kay

I used a Penny Black Stencil, spread it with translucent embossing paste, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder before the paste dried, and heat set it.

Once again I used a Penny Black Stencil, sponged various colors of memento green inks over the stencil for leaves and plum for the flowers.  All you need is to stamp a verse.

Enjoy, take time to do the things you love, Kay
